On a new laptop with hybrid graphic solution (Asus Proart PX13) evaluation of Painter 2023 stopped working correctly.
After startup, the GPU acceleration options would not show as accessible in the preferences window, as if no GPU was present in the system. Before both Amd and Nvidia options were showing up as available. Running the optimization tools is not possible anymore either, as soon as the test canvas appears it is closed immediately now.
Prior to the issue, I tinkered with the asus provided Proart Creator Hub app, setting performance mode to the CPU and GPU, as well as setting performance power plan in Windows settings and setting Nvidia device to the application in the Nvidia control panel app.
I thought this caused the issue but resetting these preferences did not alleviate the issue. Similarly, doing an installation repair did not solve the issue. Trial cannot be reinstalled either it seems.
Browsing through AppData/Local/Temp/Corel/Painter/Logs, I could find some Painter_#####.log files, all have the same content, only this line:
